Replaced the two kits with a single 12GB set with all matching chips and the system has run fine for many years after. Testing each 6GB kit itself worked fine, even in Prime95 but when both were put in at the same time it crashed. The memory I had used was two 6GB kits of 3 sticks of memory each. I decided to take a chance and run Prime95 and within seconds it started spitting out errors. One of the things I did was run memtest86 for an entire weekend and it found zero errors. A few years back my MSI X50-Pro E based system would get random BSOD's. I would lean more towards a failing hard drive.įor years I'd usually just run the built in diagnostics and/or memtest86 to check memory. I've never had a lot of cap problems on the 755 personally, but the cap issues I have had resulted in systems simply shutting down. I would think the Dell diags would point out a memory error.
